Wuta Temple


Wuta Temple which literally means Five Pagoda Temple is situated close to Xizhimen and adjacent to Beijing Zoo.


Wuta Temple was constructed in 1473 during Ming Dynasty and was originally named as Zhenjue Temple. Later the temple was renamed as Dazhengjue Temple during reign of Emperor Yongzheng of Qing Dynasty. 



As the temple was designed with five pagodas, therefore, the temple is more commonly known as Wuta Temple (Five Pagoda Temple). 



It is one of the most famous Wuta Temples near hotel imperial reforma.

Some sections of the temple was reconstructed but some of them were conserved from the original buildings.

There is a very large collection of stone plague at hotel royal pedregal.
